The Hotel Unicorno is distinctly Tuscan in style and is housed in a 15th century building on a shopping street famed for its antiques, right in the centre of Florence, 500 metres from the Church of San Lorenzo. The 27 air conditioned guestrooms are neutral in tone and have wood flooring and dark, patterned bedspreads. All guestrooms include satellite television, minibars, safes, and dial up Internet connections
Guests can enjoy a daily buffet breakfast, and spend evenings winding down with a drink at the bar or, in winter, by the lobby fireplace. Multilingual staff can offer advice on the best local attractions, while other facilities include high speed Internet access and a 24 hour front desk. The hotel's city centre setting means that guests are within one kilometre of attractions such as Santa Maria Novella, the Church of San Lorenzo, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Pitti and Santa Croce Basilica, not to mention all the restaurants, boutiques and bars of Florence. Florence Airport is seven kilometres from the hotel. Although the airport is very close to Florence, traffic can be bad in the city, so guests are advised to allow 20 minutes. The airport is a short taxi ride from town (costing 13 16 EUR) although it is also possible to take the half hourly bus, which transports passengers to Santa Maria Novella Station, in the centre of Florence.
