A resort hotel on Crete's northern coast, the Aldemar Royal Mare Village has its own private sandy beach and is two kilometres from the popular tourist destination of Hersonissou. Its 390 guestrooms are on four floors, and have modern decor and traditional stone based beds. All have balconies and come equipped with direct dial phones, safes, satellite television, refrigerators, and hair dryers. Room rate is half board and includes buffet breakfast and dinner.
The Thalasso Spa provides tailored beauty and health treatments, and fitness and dietary programmes in a 4,000 square metre complex. It includes Turkish baths, indoor and outdoor pools and an aquagym. There are numerous eating and drinking venues around the complex, including Greek restaurants, two pool bars, a wine bar, and a nightly entertainment programme at the Apollo Nightclub. Children's facilities include a separate pool, play area, kids' restaurant and supervised activities in the miniclub. Onsite shops and boutiques provide holiday essentials, jewellery, traditional arts and gifts. The hotel offers a large range of sports and leisure facilities for guests, who can enjoy a game of tennis, beach volleyball or table tennis, and can use the archery range, bridge room, or work out in the fitness room. Fitness instructors arrange aerobics, gym sessions and body firming and there are a total of 14 freshwater pools around the resort. The water sports centre on the beach offers canoeing, windsurfing, water skiing, pedal boats, parasailing, catamaran sailing, and banana rides. Tourist hotspots include the Malia Palace excavations 10 kilometres away, Heraklion town 23 kilometres away, and the Palace of Knossos 25 kilometres away. Heraklion Airport is 23 kilometres from the hotel with an approximate driving time of 25 minutes.

From the airport, the hotel is easily reached by car or taxi. A taxi fare costs approximately 26 Euros. The best way to get around Crete is by rental car or bike, although buses go to most places throughout the island. The Cretan bus company KTEL has stations in all the larger cities and stops all along the routes. Many locations are also accessible by ferry and boat taxi. Taxis in Crete are reasonably priced but visitors should make sure the driver uses the meter.
From the airport take the New National Road towards Agios Nikolaos. Take the exit for Hersonissos Port (Limani) and follow this road until reaching the junction with the old national road. Cross here and then follow the signs for the Aldemar Royal Mare Village.
