The Scandic Tampere City is a modern hotel set by a lake in the city centre, next to the train station on H�meenkatu, Tampere's main street, offering a variety of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. This seven floor hotel features 127 air conditioned guestrooms, all of which feature Scandinavian style decor with wooden floors, and include wireless Internet access, minibars, safes and hair dryers.
After a day of sightseeing around the city, guests can unwind in the sauna and work out on the fitness equipment. There is a playroom for children, and a garage for guests arriving by car. The Piazza Foodfactory is a food hall style restaurant serving wok, pasta and curry dishes as well as pizzas and burgers for lunch and dinner. Guests can also order drinks and snacks at the music bar on the first floor, which is open until 2 AM. Business guests enjoy access to eight meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 130 people. Multilingual staff at the front desk can provide information on local attractions and make restaurant reservations for guests. Nearby attractions include Vapriikki Museum Centre, one kilometre away, and S�rk�nniemi Adventure Park, two kilometres from the Scandic Tampere City hotel. Tampere Pirkkala Airport (TMP) is 15 kilometres away, around 15 minutes by car.

Taxis are available outside the terminal and cost around EUR 22 to the city centre. Bus no.61 runs between the airport and the city. The city centre is compact and best explored on foot. There is also a comprehensive local bus service.
