Location. Sunscape on the Beach Punta Cana fronts the Atlantic Ocean near the town of Punta Cana, which is located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic. Handicrafts are offered at Plaza Uvero Alto, positioned less than two kilometers from the resort.
Hotel Features. This all inclusive property is bordered by a verdant landscape of cattle ranches and banana plantations. An expansive pink marble floored lobby leads to a selection of restaurants that offer pan Asian delicacies, Mexican cuisine, grilled seafood and barbecued fare. Several bars provide poolside and swim up service, while Desires Disco Bar opens for teens during early evening hours and welcomes adults during late night hours. Four function rooms include a ballroom that accommodates up to 350 people. High speed Internet access is available in public areas for a fee. Leisure amenities include an immense freeform outdoor pool flanked by a sundeck, thatched sunshades and family sized thatched roof beds. The resort supplies watercraft such as kayaks and sailboats. Banana boats and scuba gear are offered for fees. A casino houses slot machines, and table games are introduced by mid evening. Colorful fish ponds flank a thatched roof spa that contains a hydrotherapy area, a 15 person spa tub, a cold plunge pool, a sauna, an aromatherapy steam room, an unscented steam room, and ice cold, rainforest and Swiss showers.
Guestrooms. This resort offers 620 guestrooms and suites distributed among nine three story buildings without elevators. Guestrooms extend onto furnished balconies or patios. Tile floors, light wood furniture, and sand and white hued fabrics reflect the resort's seaside environment. In room safes, refrigerators and coffeemakers add convenience. Swim out suites are available.
Expert Tip. This resort offers a staff supervised no parents allowed compound that features a pirate ship pool equipped with a water slide and a toddlers' fountain. The compound includes an air conditioned clubhouse, a shaded rubber floored playground, a dinosaur grotto, a volleyball/soccer area, a snack bar and an outdoor movie area. Parents are allotted pagers.
Children Stay Free:
Book a stay for travel through December 21, 2007, and receive accommodations as selected and complimentary lodging for children, sharing rooms with parents or guardians.
